Evaluation

Including digital media in presentations can be more efficient and very useful if u are familiar with using digital media softwares such as: photoshop, cinema 4D and Microsoft office. Using these softwares can be more efficient as work can easily be save on a USB where u can produce as many high quality copies as you need. You many also find that using this method of producing presentations give a cleaner and more detailed layout.

In my computer class i used photoshop to produce the layout/format of my research pages on A3 paper for my side table project. I used photoshop because it had the tools that i needed to layout and edit parts information that i had collected to use for my research and also because it is a more professional way of presenting work.

Using computers has made my work a considerably amount easier to complete because i am able to complete my work quicker and to a higher standard than other methods. I also found it very helpful attending the computer class especially when we would go through a tutorial showing how to find your way around some of the digital media software that we use.

For this project i went through different stages to complete pieces of work making sure that it met the criteria which was then brought together to be marked. The first stage that i went through was gathering research about the task that i was given, which i would then use to gain an understanding of different methods and techniques that i could use to complete the task.
After completing my research, i then went on to create some initial ideas for the shape and style table that i wanted to make. During this process i went about making maquettes testing to see if the design had any flaws, if it would work and what i could improve upon. Once i had selected a design that i was happy with i then continued to develop on the idea by working out where would be the most suitable location for the slot joints to be located and making small improvement as i went along.

I feel that the most successful feature about my table is the way i combined simple shapes and curves to create a stylish table that serves its design purpose.  I think that the only improvement that could have made to the table was making the surface area more stable. The most difficult thing i found doing was using the bandsaw to cut out the shape of my table from MDF, this was because the shape needed to be symmetrical for the design to work.
Continuing future projects i would like to learn how to use 3D rendering progams such as cenima 4D. This will broaden my skill base allowing me to gain experience and venture on to different things.
